Roath Community Chorus

We are an established, mixed voices community chorus welcoming members and audience supporters from all sections of the community. We meet at the Minster  Centre, Sturminster Road in Cardiff and our rehearsals are on Saturday mornings 10am to 12 noon, followed by optional tea/coffee and chat!

Our musical repertoire covers traditional chorus favourites from classical, folk and popular musicals, as well as seasonal music and some international music.

Our regular concerts, performed in December and June/July, have included guest appearances by local musicians trained by Cardiff University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, as well solo items from our Musical Director Ben Pinnow, Repiteteur Judith Rose and individual members of the Chorus.

The Chorus welcomes all comers who are keen to sing and open to a variety of music. There is no audition required. We undertake two concerts a season, and so would particularly welcome those who are willing to commit themselves to regular rehearsals.

Our membership is currently 65. We sing in voice sections, and always encourage members to try different sections to see what suits them best.   We are currently  particularly keen to welcome altos and male tenor voices.

We use musical scores and if you can read music that will be helpful but it is not essential – there is always someone to assist!
